Smile Bosch WTA3500UC Partial Heating Problem
Brand: Other
Model Number: WTA3500UC
Age: 5 - 10 years

I am a newbie and would appreciate any help offered.

My Bosch electric dryer worked great until about 1 month ago. Rather than taking 10-15 minutes to dry it now takes over 1 hour and the colthes are still not fully dry. The air temperature at the vent is no longer hot but rather warm.

I have removed the heating assembly and checked the following:

coil 1 0 ohms
coil 2 0 ohms
high limit thermostat 0 ohms across connectors
thermostat with cable (black probe in air duct) 25K ohms at room temperature and 0 ohms after heating with a hair dryer

Any sugestions for further diagnostic checks?
Thanks in advance.

What is the temperature like inside the dryer?

Is it hot and steamy?

Take the vent hose of the back and see if you have good air flow coming from the dryer.

If the air flow at the outside vent is not good you have a blockage somewhere.

Sorry I don't have a breakdown for Bosch brand of appliances.

I don't have a breakdown of Bosch but I am looking. Definetly if you have the ability, remove the rear panel. You will see a basically large and wide vent that attaches to the lint dispenser and connects to the fan housing. Remove this completely and pass a metal clothes hanger(opened) through it. If debris passes; ie lint etc, than you have resolved your problem. If not, let me know and we will continue this process.
