Default Blanco dryer is making a loud Brrrrr noise
Brand: Other
Model Number: G98612
Age: More than 10 years

This Blanco dryer is a fine piece of Italian engineering which has run for over 20 years with no problems, but it has started to make a quite loud very rapid BRRRRR noise. The dryer is still working fine though. Is it the drum bearings? There is a C clip or circlip at the back attaching the back cover to the drum. Do I have to remove the drum from the back? If so how do I remove the circlip without it flying across the room and getting lost? (Been there, done that ). Is there a special tool?

Not real sure what the brrrrrrrr noise is but a trick to the C clip that I use is to use an everyday flat tip screw driver, once the screw driver is in place place a kitchen towl over the end of the screwdriver, when prying the clip should pop up to the towl, it either catches the clip or keeps it from flying off....hope this helps..

No it's not the bearing at all. The loud BRRRRRR noise is near or in the motor. It keeps making the noise even when the drum pauses for a few seconds before reversing direction.

It is in fact the blower wheel. It has cracks in it which push out when it is spinning at full speed (not during hand turning) and hit the housing.
