Default Belt snapped
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: WED1138
Age: More than 10 years

Hi,

My Whirpool dryer drive belt just snapped. The belt have these specifications:

length: 76 1/8"
width: 1/4"
characteristics: 3 ridges and 2 grooves.

However I could not find similar spec replacement part for Whirpool dryer. The one inside this webpage is longer and has more ridges. I'm not sure weather it is compatible. Appreciate any assistance to provide any help or any information about compatible part.

Thanks
Riza

I do now the belt that you need but I can't remember the part number.

Can you please verify your model number?

The model number is WED1138 as stated in front and the back of the dryer. The are no other number on the dryer except the serial number. Hope this help to find a suitable belt.

Thank you,
Riza

About how old it the dryer? 1970?

Can you give me the serial number.

Does the dryer have just the one belt or does it have two.

Is the dryer Canadian or American?

Thank you for your prompt reply,

I'm not sure about the age of the dryer since I bought it second hand. But I think it might be in the range from 1970 - 1980.

The serial number is 108428

The dryer only have one belt.

I'm not sure whether it is Canadian or American but the brand is Whirlpool and it says 'an Australian product'.

Thank you very much,
Riza

OK that is why the model will not come up in our database.

It is because it is an Australian product.

Beside the wed1138 and the 108428 are there any other numbers?

Are there any dashes in the numbers that you gave?

Hi,

There are no other number beside WED1138 and the serial number 108428. There are also no dashes in the number however i think there is a space between WED and 1138.

Another thing is that, it says on the dryer label that "Manufactured in Australia by Malleys Ltd".

Any idea of suitable belt?

TQ

ps, I can post a picture of the dryer if you need it.
