Question Bad heating Element?
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DDE7200S
Age: 5 - 10 years

Have GE dryer Model DDE7200S - will not heat, all other functions are OK. Checked continuity of heat elements and also thermal fuses located in vent - both register as having continuity - what else could prevent dryer from heating?

Voltage. What you need to do is check the power coming to the dryer, where the plug comes into the dryer at the terminal block. From the far right terminal to the far left terminal you should read 240 volts. From the far right terminal to the middle you should read 120 volts. From the far left terminal to the middle terminal you should read 120 volts. Let me know what you find. I could be reached at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
