Default Automatic Cycles not working
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ALG443RAW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a 5 year old or older Amana Gas Dryer. The two Automatic Cycles are not moving on the timer. We had a repairman out and cleaned the exhaust blower motor (was clodded up). My wife says dyer will run fine on timer cycle, when running on automatic it stay right where she put it.

I'm guessing by searching the forum that it either the sensors or the timer. What do you think? I'm willing to hang parts if necessary. but it looks like the timer is about $150 bucks. Thanks for your help in advance.

It is most like the operating thermostat or thermostat heater that is in the blower housing the is causing your problem.

Here is a link to your dryer model ALG443RAW.

Thanks Sheila, I replace both the cycling thermostat or thermostat heater. I tried the cycling thermostat first and that didn't work. The Thermostat heater did the trick. Thanks so much and my wife is very happy. Thanks again.
