Default Admiral dryer not turning on
Brand: Admiral
Age: 5 - 10 years

Well, I think I will try my luck at fixing this thing. Earlier threads stated that the thermal fuse might be bad. I by passed mine by the heating element and nothing happened. can someone tell me how many thermal fuses a dryer has? I have looked pictures and have seen thermal fuses for motor run. I have seen them next to the heating element as well. Are there more than one to check. When the unit is plugged in I here the timer, does that mean I'm getting power. I assume so. Cycling thermastat could that cause a problem with the unit running? I bought an ohm meter. Don't know how to use it yet or set it, but If I test a component does the plug from the wall need to be disconnected? Can I disconnect the door switch wires and ties them together for a test? Thanks any help would be great

Yes test the door sw that way, also the start button the same, ck where your power cord attaches to the back of your dryer for 240 volts, for that use "ac" 500v setting on your meter,

You thermal fuse is by the element. It is on the right hand side of the element. Follow the 2 whites wires. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
