I have a front loading gas maytag dryer. It is 9 years old. It won't run at all. My mother-in-law dryed two light loads of laundry for me yesterday, and today it won't start at all. I tripped the circuits and tried all the differents drying cycles and none will start. Any ideas? For the last few weeks I did notice a slight electrical smell while it was running, but just chalked it up to our washer and dryer running simultaneously side by side, that it was putting additional heat into the dryer. Would appreciate any help.

You will have to check the wiring to the motor.

If the wiring is good and your fuse in the house is good it is likely the motor that has
failed.

Also check the wiring in the console.
