Default 2 thermostats, which one to order?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11097529120
Age: More than 10 years

Hi,

I need a new thermostat for my dryer per repairman.

Dryer runs somewhat warm, but not hot.

Parts list describes:

- Thermostat 205 degrees

OR

- Thermostat 150 degrees

Repair place can't seem to tell me which one needs replaced, but only one does based on the quote from repairman.

Can you tell from fact that dryer does get fairly warm, but not hot...which thermostat (205 or 150) might need replaced??

I really appreciate your help.

Here is a parts break down
Kenmore Parts for Models 11097529120

If you look at Page 2 it shows the adjustable thermostat
Click on the part and you will get a better view

The 150 F thermostat adjusts the dryer temp.
It can adjust from 135 to 155 F
You may want to see where your's is set
This is the actual dryer temp control thermostat

The other thermostat is a safety device
It trips at 205 F
So if the dryer is running normally this should never trip

It could be tripping too soon but the odds are it is the operating thermostat which needs replacing
