Default Wont Drain Completely
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FDB1050REB2
Age: 1 - 4 years

My dishwasher drains but when everything is complete water is still left in the pan. When I hit cancel during a cycle to get the 90 second drain cycle... the water drains... but half way through water starts to fill again and I get about 1" of water left in pan every time.. I would think this isnt right. Any ideas?

It the water coming in through the fill hole in the side of the dishwasher tub or is it backing up from the drain.

If it is coming back in from the drain check the drain hose to make sure that it lopped high enough. It should be lopped up the back of the dishwasher so that it is higher than your drain.

Ok... so I checked the drain line. It wasnt looped up and attached to the side of the dishwasher, so I did that. However, same problem still exists. It seems that while the pump is draining the tub there is still water being brought in through the fill hose. The pump stops and water continues to fill. When I check the water, after everything is done, it is about 2 inches deep (at the center) and HOT.

It seems to me that dishwasher shouldn't be filling during a drain cycle. Correct?

Thoughts, again?

You are right the dishwasher should not be filling during the drain cycle.

This is either caused by the fill valve not closing or the electronic control.

The fill valve may be sticking open.

To check this start the dishwasher and let it start to fill.

Let it fill for a few second and then open the door to see if water is still coming in to the dishwasher.

If water is still come in with the door opened replace the fill valve.

If the water stop when you open the door your control is faulty.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model FDB1050REB2.
