Cool It wont drain!
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 66517621692
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dishwasher wont drain properly after wash cycle, leaves 2-3 inches of water on bottom. I was told maybe drain impeller?. I pulled it apart down to the drain impeller and found everything intact, does the drain impeller have fins on the outside of it? Thanks in advance!

Here is a picture of the impeller kit.

The gray impeller is for the drain.

If the edges of the fins are rounded you will have to replace it.

I have a Kenmore 16533200 and its doing the same thing. I cannot remove the Inlet protector cover. I removed the 1 screw that suppose to be holding it down. Object Plate was no problem. In my case water drains completely but it fills up the tub up to 3". I am assuming its backflowing from the garbage disposal. Does this mean that unidirectional valve malfunctioning?
Were you successful fixing your dishwasher? If yes, how? Any suggestions? Thanks!

The water from the disposer should not get in the dishwasher if the drain hose is looped up the back of the tub to the top.

It could be the check valve is broken if the hose is not looped to the top of the dishwasher.

Sorry but we had no luck in fixing our dishwasher. One site recommended replacing the drain impeller (which we did) and it still doesn't work. We bought another one off of Craigslist. Good luck with your machine.
