Default White residue on dishes
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDS01FLSS3
Age: 1 - 4 years

The dishes and complete inside of the dishwasher has a powdery white reside. This has only happened within the last 6 months and the unit is only 2.5 years old. Only hand washing will remove the residue. I have changed my liquid detergent to a powder and still no difference.

You are either adding too much detergent or dishwasher not draining all the way.

I have experimented with the amount of detergent and that doesn't seem to help. How can I tell if the dishwasher is not draining correctly?

Try a gallon of white vinegar, just dump it in. This will react with soap residue. You may have globs of it from some accident.
