I have a kenmore ultra wash dish washer. For the past month I have tried everything to get the white film that it leaves behind off my dishes. I run without heat drying and it still leaves behind this chalky film. I've tried running it with vinegar, bleach, jet dry and even dishwasher cleaner that you are not suppose to run with dishes in it. The cleaner is the only way I can get rid of film. But, it just comes back in the next washing. Is it the dishwasher? My dish soap ( I've tried about three different kinds and it still remains white?) Could it be my water? I am fed up! Help! The dishwasher will not cause white film on it own.

It sound like you may have hard water.

If you don't have a water softener try using more detergent.

Don't use liquid detergent it does not work well in hard water.

Have your water checked to find out for sure.

Calcium on the dishes can be identified by the fact that it can be removed by soaking in or scrubbing with vinegar.

the is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishwasher and leaves your dishes spot free. after the first load i was amazed that the white film was gone and my dishes were sparkling.
