I have always owned kenmore appliances and especially the dishwashers and have been very satisfied with the cleaning of the dishes. This new Elite model has not been cleaning well since the day I bought it. I probably need a repair call but I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong first.

My dishes have been coming out with a white coating, which I think is from the detergent. I have never used a rinsing agent in any of my previous dishwashers and I use nothing but the best detergents. Have they changed the detergents so they do not rinse as they use to and I now need to purchase a seperate rinsing agent or is there something wrong with the dishwasher?

I'm so glad someone else has this problem. We just got the Kenmore Elite dishwasher and we are having the EXACT same problem... white film left on everything. We've tried using more and less detergent, rinse aid, running a cycle with NO detergent at all, we've tried running a cycle with vinegar to cut through the scum. NOTHING has worked. I would love to know what you ended up doing. We got this to help save us time and effort and so far it's causing MORE.

the problem is hard water. this is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system and it actually filters the water going into the dishwasher. i tried everything to get my dishes clean but nothing worked until i tried this system. my glasses all had a white, cloudy look to them and it was terrible.
