Default Whirlpool dishwasher part missing
Brand: Please select
Model Number: ADP4400 WH
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi guys.
Had a whirlpool ADP4400 for about 2 years. It is completely unused as far as I was aware. Until someone tried to use it and we found out after flooding a kitchen that a part is missing.
As I know nothing about dishwashers I thought I would post a photo so someone who knows may be able to figure what I need.

The attached photo is of the underside of the dishwasher. The green circle outlines where there apears to be something missing. Any water that goes in comes straight through there from the drain above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is hard to tell by looking at the picture. Have you tried to put your part # in on the part select site, and look at the picture breakdown. Sorry I cannot accuratly see it. Tom

Right. I just posted a sec ago and that post seems to have disappeared.
The model yes is the ADP 4400 WH.
I have managed to locate spares over at 4Whirlpool.co.uk
I have gone through the catalogue a bit and I think I may have narrowed down the part just by eliminating things I could see on there already.
I have made a new jpg attached which shows what I think each part is on my washer. You'll have to zoom in a bit though as I wrote a bit small.
Now by process of elimination and the fact that it looks a good fit and looks like the connector if you look closely would fit perfectly. I think it is the pressure switch shown here 4Whirlpool.co.uk - Whirlpool Pressure Switch
If you guys could confirm that I would be over the moon.
Also, the salt as can be seen in the pic is brown. Is this normal? I was told this dishwasher was unused?

This is a UK machine, I looked at US sites Model Numbers and design features differ.
Sorry cannot be of much use, have never seen a unit with a salt dispenser.

I would tend to agree with you that the part you have found is correct.
As for what looks like a rust deposit, it does not make sense that this would be in a brand new machine.

I took a look at the site that you provided.

It does look like the pressure switch could go there.

Because this is from the UK we have not seen this model.

Is it possible to send a few more different picture of the unit? Maybe some of the inside.

Is the picture taken of the side or the bottom.

You mentioned the brown in the salt. I don't see this in your picture.

I will get some more pictures soon. Its not being stored here I'm afraid.
The brown can be seen in the bottom right corner.
The picture is taken of the bottom of the unit. With the left being the front and the right being the rear (where the waste pipe goes).
Everything on the unit appears to be new although the heating element seems to have some limescale deposits (not sure if a new model even if sat around for 2 yrs shoud have this). Think maybe it might be reconditioned and they forgot to put the pressure switch back on.
And apologies, I didn't realise I was on a us site.
