Unhappy Whirlpool dishwasher not operating right
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DUL240XTPQ1
Age: 1 - 4 years

When I start the disherwasher, the lights turn on. After about 30 seconds, the start/resume light blinks (this usually indicates that you have opened the door and can press the resume button and will turn back on to wash the dishes). I cannot shut the blinking off. The bottom will fill up with water but cannot drain the water. Is the motor gone?

However, we recently had new counter tops installed and when you go to close the door, you have to push the door alittle to the left so it doesn't bang on the surrounding cabinets. Do you think it could have something to do with the door hinges?

This could be something to do with the new counter top.

If you try to adjust the door you will likely end up with a leak.

Does it sound like the dishwasher starts to wash.

the dishwasher has been working for 6 months without problems. If you hold the door completely closed tightly, it will fill up, however, we haven't held it long enough to see if it goes through the whole cycle. We cannot, however, seem to get the water out on the bottom. The button next to the start/resume button is cancel/drain. When we push the button, it doesn't drain. Is that because it hasn't gone through the whole washing process?

When you hold the door and the dishwasher fills will it start to wash?

When you push the drain button does the motor make any sounds at all?

I had a repair guy come in. The problem was in the door latch. The T where it closes was bent. He unbent the T. I had a feeling it was in the door. Thanks.
