I have a whirlpool dishwasher that is making a loud, high pitched during the wash cycle, not sure exactly.. It starts about 15 minutes into a heavy load cycle, and then goes away after about 10 minutes. It seems to be washing fine, but just trying to get ahead of this one if there is a part that is getting ready to fail.

Hi,

Could be a couple of things. First I would check the food chopper to see if something is caught in it. You may find a video at ApplianceJunk.com that shows you how to do that.

If you don't find anything in the food chopper then I would guess it's the motor bearings. I have replaced many of these dishwasher motors for noise problems.
