Default Whirlpool Dishwasher Leak
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DU800CWDB1
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a 10 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that came with the house. Recently, it started leaking from the bottom right hand side. I ordered a new tub seal since we have hard water problems in our area and the seal was old. Installed the seal but it still leaked from same place. I forced the washer to fill with the door open and noticed water was coming out of the water inlet on the left with very high pressure and hitting the right side of the door causing the leak. This surely can't be how it was designed. Any thoughts on how to either deflect the water spray or is the water inlet clogged causing the high pressure? I felt in the inlet but didn't find any clogs. Perhaps a filter should fit on the water inlet to slow down the water? I reduced the water pressure going into the washer and that solved the problem for now. Thanks.

You will have to pull the dishwasher out and look at the inlet.

The inlet are usually made of clear or opaque plastic.

If your water pressure is really high this would cause the problem.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model DU800CWDB1.
