Default Water left in bottom after cycle.
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB7600AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello,
We have a dishwasher that has water being left in the bottom of the tub after it's done with either a clean cycle or just a rinse cycle.

I have checked the drain hose and pump by disconnecting it from the air gap and holding in the sink on a rinse cycle, it seemed to have good flow, and towards the end I could see the pump in action. At the beginning it was removing just a solid flow of water that became a trickle towards the end of the cycle. I removed the hose from the bottom of the dishwasher, and checked the flowback flapper, which seemed to be working fine.

I located the parts page Maytag MDB7600AWW and took apart the parts in the bottom, and checked for debris, which I cleaned out.. That was nasty.. Also, I checked the additional flowback flapper piece at the drain, as well as checking inside the top of the drain. After that I ran a complete cycle but, there was still water left in the bottom.

I'm wondering what else I can check, I thought about the timer, but I wanted to ask first.

Bill

How much water is left in the dishwasher?

How far did you take the dishwasher apart? What number on the breakdown?

Enough water was left to cover the fins

Part #7 was removed

Part #6 looked OK

Thanks for the reply

Check the drain pump assembly.
