Default Water leaks at bottom corners of door
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.15958793
Age: 5 - 10 years

This is a Whirlpool/ Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher. It has started to leak at the bottom corners of the door. The dishwasher fills with water and only leakes at the start of the cycle, the runs fine and does not leak until it empties and refills for rinse then only leaks for 2-3 seconds when cycle starts. I replaced the door gasket and made sure the float and float switch are working. The water fills to the bottom heating element and Iam not sure how far it should fill. I have taken the inner door panel off and dont see anything wrong with it. Any help would be great

I don't know why it would leak for such a short time but when the lower spray arm gets a crack in it it will spray in the wrong directions and leak like your. Inspect it carefully for cracks.

Since it leaks at both sides of the door I doubt it is a gasket/seal problem.
Sounds as if it is overfilling
If it fills until the float switch is activated then it is definitely overfilling.
Once the pump kicks in fully the washer is using the water so the level drops and the leak stops.
Usually the float switch is a safety device and not part of normal cycle operation.
It fills by using time only
Have any changes been made to the plumbing recently which may have increased the water pressure?
The only other possible cause I can think of is the timer

You could check this in a couple ways
1. Remove the kick plate
Hold the float switch down so it stays closed
Start a cycle.
Does it now fill over the heater element?
Probably would be a good idea to put out a couple pots to catch the water.

2. Shut the water supply off
Add a couple quarts of water to the tub, this ensures the pump has adequate water when it starts up
Place a volt meter across the fill valve
Does it get ~120 volts for an extended time or always?

If it is a timer problem then either the processor is gone or the relay contacts (if used) that control the fill are welded together.
