Default Water control valve
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 16703891
Age: 5 - 10 years

Dishwasher continues to fill with water when turned off. Is this due to a faulty water inlet valve? Will simply replacing this valve solve the problem?

Yes if your water pressure is good that is all you will have to do.

Make sure that the water is not coming in through the drain.

Can you please check your model number?

It should start with either 665 or 110 and then five to eight numbers after that.

The model number is found on a tag on the inside of the dishwasher where the door closes.

How do I know if it's coming in through the drain? With the water turned off at the shut-off valve, no water comes in. If I turn on the water and run the dishwasher, everything works fine. I just have to shut off the water when it hits the drying cycle.
