Water coming into dishwasher from side Brand: Maytag Model Number: mdb7100 Age: 5 - 10 years I noticed water on my floor. It was pouring out of the dishwasher bottom. I run a drain cycle, it cleans out the water. When I run water in the sink, water is trickling into the dishwasher from a porthole that is approximately 4 inches from the bottom, on the left side in the rear.
Is this the drain? I don't think it is, since the water below that level drains fine when I run a drain cycle. I would expect that tthe drain would be at the very bottom of the unit.
Any idea why water is trickling in to the dishwasher? What is the purpose of thjis hole?
I did tie my drain hose from the disposal up under the sink so that it is raised. I have seen instructions that there needs to be a 32" loop to avoid siphoning, is that helping, hurting or unrelated?
Also, when I opened the front access panel, there is a clear plastic reservoir in the right front that is filled to the top with water. Is this normal? If not what does it indicate? |
