Unhappy Washer makes buzzing noise; no spin, no cyle, no drain
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KAWS777
Age: More than 10 years

I have searched the forums extensively, but can't find this exact problem. There is a buzzing noise and nothing else happens except the washer does fill, but that is it.

Reading the forums, I see quite a bit about the latch switch, but would the buzzing continue if the latch switch was bad?

I've checked under the unit for loose things, etc., but no problems seem apparent.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for sharing your time.

If the washer will not agitate or spin or drain there may be something stuck in your pump.

You will need to remove the cabinet of the washer to access the pump to remove it.

To remove the cabinet take the two screws in the console out and flip the console up on it hinges.

Remove the two brassy looking clips in each corner.

Disconnect the lid switch wiring harness.

Open the washer lid and tilt the cabinet toward you and lift at the same time.

Place the cabinet out of your way.

Release the two clamps holding the pump on.

Here is a link to your washer model KAWS777.
