Default Upper arm does not rotate
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB3000AWX
Age: More than 10 years

The upper arm of my dishwasher is not rotating. Water comes out of the arm, but i am certain it is not rotating. I took the arm and the tube that feeds the arm water from the pump and tried feeding the arm with tap water. It still did not rotate. Do these arms actually go bad? It seems that the problem has to be either with the arm or the pump. Is it worth replacing the arm?

thank you.

Ed

It spins easily by hand. The holes are not plugged, but when I first inspected the arm I noticed small pieces of thin plastic coming out of a couple of the holes. I removed the pieces of plastic. It was a very small amount.

Could be something else but my guess is if you can find where those plastic slivers came from you will find your cause
