Default Under dishwasher pan
Brand: Please select
Age: 5 - 10 years

I had a slow dishwasher leak and now I'm having to have the base cabnets removed and the whole floor replaced. I am wondering if there is such a thing as a pan for under the dishwasher like there is for a washer or hot water tank. I will be putting a water alarm under there too, but would like to catch any water that leaks out since we are having wood floors put in. WHAT A TERRIBLE MESS! The supply hose finally broke and sent water down the wall to the bedroom below the kitchen and they had to come in and rip all the sheetrock and insulation out of the bedroom wall and a lot of the kitchen floor (from the leak).

Here is a link to one type of dishwasher liner

All it does is route the water out in front of the dishwasher so you can see it. Better than nothing but only works if you are home and in the kitchen

I do know water sensors that activate a shut off valve are also available but fairly pricey.
In Europe this is included with quite a few dishwashers re: some Bosch's

I have a GE dishwasher that likes to leak every few years. The soft rubber parts like the sump and hose connectors just seem to rot out. Have replaced all of them (I Hope) in the last 10 years. GE of coarse has never heard of this. I found a fairly large plastic pan and put a drain in the middle of it with a clear plastic hose attached. My kitchen is over my utility room so I just drilled a hole in the floor and routed the hose close to my sewer. A couple times have gone down to do laundry and found water from the hose. I then know it is time to pull the dishwasher apart once again

here is a pan that fits under your d/w & catches leaks. its called a "floor saver pan". iv'e got one under my d/w & it looks like it should eliminate any floor damage problems.
