Default Unable to remove darin valve solenoid
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSD4930X66WW
Age: More than 10 years

I am unable to remove the drain valve solenoid assembly. I have removed the two screws and all of the wires as the instructions here say to do, but there is still something holding the unit in.

It seems to be the "C" (or "E") clip on the pin of the solenoid that goes through the plastic cam. I can't find the part on the blow up of parts on this site to show yoiu.

I don't want to rush in and remove the clip if I don't have to. If it drops down under the machine, I'll never find it. By the same token, I don't want to try to jerk the solenoid out because that might really mess up something.

Any suggestions on what might still be holding the solenoid in and/or how to remove the solenoid?

Thank you.

Just remove the clip and pull the plastic cam out.
