Default Two Problems
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB9150AWS
Age: 5 - 10 years

I've got two problems.

First one. My upper arm has water coming out of it, but does not spin. I recently drained my hot water heater and this seemed to cause some problems with the water flow to the dishwasher. Right after I got the water to fill after cleaning the input hoses, the upper arm stopped spinning. Is there anything I need to clean that could have stopped this from spinning?

The second problem was caused by me trying to fix the first. In order to see what was going on with the washer, I put a screwdriver into the door opening to make the latch think it was closed to see what was going on inside the dishwasher. Now I can't close the dishwasher because it thinks its already latched closed. I have tried everything to open it up including trying to turn the thing off/on, etc., but to no avail. Please help!

Remove the upper spray are and clean it out.

To remove it remove the nut that is above the spray arm.

You will have to open the control panel and release the door latch.

Here is the door latch.
