Default Trouble replacing upper spray arm
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KDC 21A
Age: More than 10 years

Hi, water supply tube that attaches to the upper spray arm rotted out. Unable to replace only the tube, I purchased an upper spray arm kit which includes a supply tube. The problem is, unlike the original spray arm which was positioned below the supply tube, the new arm appears to connect to the top of the supply tube. Given that the supply tube must align with the intake source at the back of the dishwasher, the new arm is too high and doesn't clear the rack.

Is it possible to replace only the supply tube (couldn't find it on Parts Select), or am I overlooking the correct way to assemble/connect the kit? The part number I purchased is 675808. I've read the posts from other users, but it does not address this problem. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model KDC21A.

I don't see the part that you ordered on this dishwasher how did you get the part number?

Hi, Sheila -- thanks very much for the reply; my apologies for the delay in answering. I found the replacement spray arm kit (by searching KitchenAid KDC 21A. The search produced 116 dishwasher parts, but I could not find the water supply tube by itself. However, the link you've sent me which includes detailed drawings of each part of the machine is most helpful. In looking at the upper wash/rinse diagram it appears the part I need is labeled #14, part #PS356311. I will contact Customer Service to see about exchanging the parts. Thanks very much for your help!
