Default Is it tricky to remove/replace an electronic control assembly?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 665.15964990
Age: 5 - 10 years

The controls are not working right. The dishwasher turns on only if the pots and pans cycle is selected. After it turns on, it can't be cancelled. It just runs and runs. The only way I can turn it off is to turn off the electricity. When I turn the electricity back on, the problem repeats.

I assume that this can be fixed by replacing the electronic control assembly. I haven't tried to remove it yet. Is removal and replacement simple? Are any special tools required?

The model is Kenmore Elite 665.15964990 (stock#: 15964)

Thanks.
Harry

If the touch pad is in the "console assembly," its cost is high enough to question whether it's worth repairing at all. Buying a new dishwasher may be a better option.

They range in price depending on the colour of the face of your dishwasher.

The range is between $219.00 and $271.00
