Default Trapped ina whirlpool
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: Gu1500XTLTO
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi! Appreciate any input on my dishwasher problem...

2002 unit sprung a leak in November, and the factory covered most of a new tub under warranty. The machine stopped working two weeks ago, and the service technician prescribed a new control panel. I ordered one online, but when I installed it, nothing changed. The "clean" light continued to blink... Called the repair company to complain about the bunko diagnosis, and they sent their "best man" out -- same guy who had done the tub transplant -- and he told my wife the latch switch just needed to be bent into place to tell the unit the door was securely closed -- and he bent the piece and the dishwasher started right up.
It ran from Thursday until Saturday, when it stopped dead. Needless to say, the repair place will not come out again unless they are on the clock for parts and labor.
I swapped the new touchpad, that did not do anything, and when I lift the door switch, I can hear it click, so that seems to be okay. There is power at those two inputs on the circuit board.
This particular dishwasher had a nice cherry panel to match the rest of the kitchen, so I'd like to fix it, and will only call the repair place again since I feel I've been jerked around.
Sorry to be so longwinded, but that's the situation.. should I A) suspect the circuit board B) assume it's the door switch, or C) buy a new dishwasher.

Thanks for any input,

Bill Hard

Do you mean that it ran non-stop from Thursday until Saturday or do mean that you used it each day?

Is there any light in the display this time?

Did you check the fuse in the control panel?

Here is a link to your dishwasher model Gu1500XTLT0.

We used the dishwasher each day, then it just stopped. I cannot find a fuse
on that board. Can you tell me what it looks like? The board on my gas
fired central heater has a fuse that's 3amp, blue plastic, almost automotive
like -- and there is nothing on the Whirpool board remotely like that.
There are no lights on at all. When I check the two major leads to the
board -- one black wire, one black w/ white stripe, there is full power
going to the board.

Here is what the fuse looks like:
