Default Thermister
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 66517012400
Age: 1 - 4 years

The thermal fuse has blown, and I ordered a new one along with the heating element. The old element checks at 10 ohm and has a burn mark on it. The new element reads 12 ohm.
Im still waiting on the new fuse, while I wait, is there a way to check the thermister or thermostat by OHMs ?
Am I on the right track here? Do you think the lement alone would have blown the fuse, or is there another culprit here?

Thanks,
Kevin

The thermostat will either read open or closed.

Closed is the reading you should get.

It is likely if the element opened that it took the fuse out.

Also check the wiring connection at the door switch to make sure the connection is tight.

Here is a link to the parts of your dishwasher model 66517012400.
