Default Testing a control panel
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: gsd4148x04ww
Age: 1 - 4 years

The LED flashes on the normal wash and makes a beeping sound, if I press start, it flashes (no beep) on the start LED, then after about 15 seconds it goes back to the normal and starts to flash and beep again. I've tried shutting the power off for a few minutes, same thing. Most tech shops (and reading some posts on this board) all seem to say it's the control panel. I have it removed and would gladly buy another if I knew for sure that this one is burnt. Is there anyway to test it with a multimeter to see if it's cooked? What causes the control panel to malfunction (power surge, moisture, vibration?). If it's not the control panel could it be the cycle switch? Thanks

There should be a technician sheet in the bottom access panel.

This should tell you how to test the panel.

Can you please verify your model number as I can't located it in our database?

There is no tech sheet present. The dishwasher is a GE Quiet Power plus.
This is the model number(GSD4148X04WW), and I've tried to reference it as well, funny, but the model number just doesn't seem to exsist? There is a serial no as well MZ607963A. The sticker says "Camco INC, made in Canada" as well. I have the control panel out and have compared it to the panel listed on the parts section PS260154 it appears to be identicle.

Found the problem! It was the sequence switch (found the tech sheet too, it was way up under the floor of the dishwasher). I took apart the sequence switch, it's nothing more than an electro-mech switch. Took a 9v battery to the small dc motor and it turned, checked to make sure all the contacts were touching, then rotated the sequence wheel. Reinstalled it and now it works fine. What may have occured was during an electrical storm a power surge might have advanced the sequence switch, throwing the control panel into test mode(locking the machine up). Hope this helps anyone
