Default Temporary leak at watershield assembly
Brand: Gibson
Model Number: MDR251RER0
Age: 5 - 10 years

When restarting the dishwasher mid-cycle (the door closed switch had opened), a spray of water eminates from just above the motor for just a moment, then stops. After the washer completes the cycle, a modest amount of water will continue to leak out. What seals/gaskets/o-rings etc do I need to replace? The pump motor shaft seal, the pump gasket, the gasket-pump, all the above or something else. Thanks.

It sound like the shaft seal.

Check the drain port on the housing for cracks.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model MDR251RER0.

PS - Sheila - Now that I have my parts, give me a clue - can I do this from inside the dishwasher housing or need I remove all the guts, inside and underneath, to do this?

Thanks, Joe McCann

You take it a part from the inside of the dishwasher.
