Question Springs/Cable & Eyelet Assembly
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSD940L-02BA
Age: More than 10 years

How do I replace the broken cables and springs which sprung out of the built-in dishwasher when I opened the door. I could not figure out how the parts got out of the unit and where they are originally hooked up. I see no holes or gap where they could have sprung out . I tried removing the lower panel (which I presumed where the broken parts came from) but find it difficult to remove the top screws. What tool should I use? Help!

Here's a diagram of cables and spring on your model. GSD940L Parts List

It's part 733 & 734. A door roller kit. Partselect.com - GE Dishwasher Parts And All Brands of Appliance Parts

To get the lower panel off you probably need the proper size socket as most don't have screw slots. Check the screw locations in the diagrams.
