Default Spray Arm wobbles
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUDS25SHBL0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Is the lower washarm (spray arm) supposed to rotate smoothly when spun by hand? I just replaced the Wash Arm Retainer Nut, Wash Arm Bearing Ring, and the Spray Arm Bearing Ring because the Retainer Nut broke off in the female receptacle of the strainer unit. I had noticed that it wobbled before it broke and I thought maybe that is why it broke. Now I just wonder if that is how it is supposed to move. Could it be that I need a new spray arm as well?

no, they do wobble. when the water pressurizes the spray arm it actually lifts and the bushing/bearing ring just under the nut is where it rubs while spinning. this (the top ring) is usually the part that wears out, then it rubs on the nut and eventually pops off. you would probably notice a difference in wash performance as it neared failure as you would be losing pressure and the arm would bind up and not spin as well. so you are fine if you installed new nut and top and bottom ring.
