The soap dispenser does not spring open. It comes unhooked but I think the spring mechanism is broken so the lid just sits covering the soap although it is not tightly closed. Can the spring be replaced or do I have to replace the whole dispenser assembly?

I would open up the door panel and take a look it may be obvious what happened.
If it is a spring it may have just come loose

Sears does not make anything.
