Default Shoiuld this part be filled with water?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mdb5100awq
Age: 5 - 10 years

According to the diagram of the dishwasher model part # PS1516564 (10 in the picture) is the vent, inlet. My question is should this be filled with water, what's it for? I can't remember water being in it before??? If not do you have to take it off to get the water out?

thanks
