Default Replacment tub/liner for GE Profile
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: pdw7880n00s
Age: Less than 1 year

Hi,

I managed to crack my inside tub at the base of the door(where the door hinges at the bottom) and the door liner on the corner. My question is...can i replace my whole tub and doorliner??? I checked ge's site since they are currently closed and the closest thing I can find that they offer is the tub insulation. Is that just the outside part or what I need??? I need the whole inside liner that keeps your water inside and the door liner also. The crack has broken a piece off and is beyond replair for something like epoxy. This thing is brand new and don't want to trash a $900 dishwasher.

If it is replacable...any idea how much to replace and also is this a "professional install job only" kind of deal cause of all the seals and such??? What do you think a repair man would charge??? Please help!!!

Your tub has a lifetime warranty so I would call the dealer and then GE
Dealers are sometimes more lenient when it comes to warranty especially if they have their own techs.
A lot depends how it broke but even if it was your fault you may be able to get some type of credit or some other deal.
I would not say, something like: there was something stuck to the tub so I took a hammer and chisel to it.
It will depend in large part who you talk to and if they are having a good day.

It would be a major job to replace the tub. Basically you are building a machine with the extra work of removing all the parts from the old one, at least twice the work.

If a tub goes under warranty, they normally replace the dishwasher or do a refund/credit. This is a lot cheaper than having a repair tech rebuild the entire dishwasher.

If I was to do it I would probably charge around $1,300.00, taxes extra

denman: Thanks for your response, this gets me in the ballpark. I was afraid it was going to be a rather $$$ thing. I will call GE today and see what they can do for me.
