Default Replacing Power Cord
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDC5100AWB
Age: 1 - 4 years

I need to replace the frayed power cord on our dishwasher. It enters through the back panel, runs along the right side between the outer housing and inner wall, through the lower inner wall and connects to the power box on the bottom front.

It looks like I have to remove the wood top, the three-sided outer panel, and the front panels to access the entire length of the cord and feed it trough from the back. Is there an easier way to replace this cord???

Thanks!

Tom

I have never done this but this is what I would try

Undo it at the front
Tape a strong piece of cord to it
Pull it back through the machine
Tape the new one to the cord and fish it down to the connection box

I would use a long cord, so that when you fish it thru the first time you have at least twice plus the length needed. Then tape the new one at the half way point of the cord. That way if the power cord snags and comes undone you still have the fish cord running through the machine and can give it another try.
