Smile Replace Control Panel Part# 99002802
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDBTT59AWQ
Age: 1 - 4 years

The plastic in the handle area has cracked. Epoxy did not hold it very long. Now after numerous pinched fingers, I have the part ordered. I would like replacement instruction,if anyone could provide it. Will it be as simple as removing/replacing the screws? Anyone ? Please.

this one could get a little tricky. pretty straight forward untill you have to snap the new handle into the new latch. if your lucky you got the latch assy with a handle already installed. if not you just got the new handle with the metal pivot instead of plastic. the trick is when you are trying to push the new handle into the latch assy. you need to actually close the inner door and actually latch the door shut with the latch, then you can pop the handle into the latch and then unlatch the door with you new handle. hard to explain, but you take your time and look close and you will see. do it once and you're a pro! good luck!
