I would like to replace the upper spray arm on my Maytag mdb7100aww. It has food in it that I can't get out and so the upper dishes don't get clean sometimes. I can't figure out how to remove the upper spray arm, though. Can someone tell me how?

PS the dishwasher is 6 years old (I made a mistake when I said the age is less than a year)

To remove the spray arm remove the nut that is above the arm close to the tub.

You should be able to turn this with your fingers but if it is stuck give it a tap with a blunt end.

Make sure you don't damage the tub.

Thanks, Sheila. When I'm looking into the dishwasher do I turn the nut to the left or the right? I tried turning it either way with my fingers and it wouldn't move, so I stopped. I'll try again when I get home from work tonight and it would be good to know I'm trying to turn in the proper way. Thanks.

You will turn it to the left.
