 Removal of DW water seal from motor shaft Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Am helping a friend replace water pump parts on 10 - 15 yr old whirlpool DW. Motor shaft is somewhat pitted, Plastic parts (impeller, etc) were removed with chisel, as they were stuck on. Now it appears that waterseal on motor shaft must be replaced. According to diagram shipped with new parts, the new parts for impeller,etc are somewhat different than old parts (new design?) When trying to use new parts with old shaft water seal, parts don't fit together. I can't use new parts with old water seal, so must replace water seal with completely redesigned new one. While new water seal is designed encircle motor shaft, but not touch it, old seal is meant to be attached to shaft, and is stuck to shaft. How to remove? |
