Post R&r Motor Shaft Seal/chopper Wheel
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB8600AWB
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have TS the problem down to the plastic motor shaft is stripped out. Even thought the motor is spinning the wash impeller assembly is not moving water at a high enough rate/pressure to fill or spin wash arms. What I want to know is do I need to pull unit out from the wall to install new parts once I purchase them. I read that you need to stick screw driver in hole in motor to intall new seal.

Dishwasher motor was easier to pull out than I thought. The manual did not specify if I had to remove the unit from under the counter or how the motor was fastened in place. It turns out that the motor just sits in place with a rubber sear that uses its own weight to secure it. R&R the broken parts and reinstalled the motor. Connected all back up and cycled thru rinse cycle 3x no leaks observed.
Thanks for posting the manual it did help me with the TS portion. My next job will be a appliance technican.
