Pressure Switch? KitchenAid Brand: KitchenAid Model Number: KUDS01FK Age: 5 - 10 years Hi folks: (reposting to get more information please)
My dishwasher is filling from the bottom of the unit. I'm 99% sure the water is coming in from the drain tube. I know this because it fills with the main water supply line shut off. The water is being sourced from an icemaker that shares a common drain line (the icemake water runoff is pumped into a common drain). This setup has been working fine for years, but has just started to 'leak' out the door of the dishwasher as a result. There are no clogs in the drains nor the air gap.
I suspect the pressure switch may be bad but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

INITIAL REPLY:
The dishwasher does not have a pressure switch.
If the dishwasher is filling form the drain you may want to put an air break in the line.
Check to make sure the drain hose is as high as the top of the dishwasher.

MY RESPONSE:
Thanks for the reply but I'm now confused. I'm holding in my hand a 3" white plastic part with 2 electrical connections with part # 8268477. On the wiring schematic there is a table indicating this part # is a "Pressure Switch".
The drain hose connects to the male end of this part and the female end plugs into the main pump on the dishwasher.
Am I missing something? I suspect something has failed as this was working fine for years and has now just started having problems
Thanks. |
