Default Ongoing problem with dishwashers.
Brand: Maytag
Age: 1 - 4 years

I am having an ongoing problem with dishwasher in my home. I have owned 3 different dishwasher over the last 7 years or so all built in. They plug into an outlet under the sink and drain into the side of the disposal unit under the sink. Soon after installing all of these dishwasher they begin to not clean very well and leave ground up food all over the dishes as well as not cleaning much the dishes very well. I kept thinking that I was having bad luck and kept replacing the dishwasher each time with a different brand the current model is a maytag and is less than 2 years old. I have begun to wonder if I have an electrical problem that is not allowing enough power to the unit. I have used the same power cord on all three units. 2 weeks ago I completely disasembled and cleaned the dishwasher and it seemed to stop leaving chopped up food on the dishes but still did not clean really well but now is leaving chopped up food and not cleaning well again. Any ideas on how to DX this problem would be greatly appreciated as I am getting tired of buying new dishwasher. Thanks, Talj1

I belive you have adrain problem. You said that ground up food was all over the dishes. That means that the food was processed but not ejected.
You may try getting a P trap for under you sink and re routing your drain into that, or, try rinsing the dishes before putting them in the dish washer.

I thought of that but there is never any water left in the tub at the end of the wash cycles and besides that, it is not cleaning well.
