Default Noisey GE
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GLD4100L00WW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My GE Dishwasher is a little over a year old out of warranty and very noisey during the wash cycle. Quiet when filling and quiet when pumping out. Removed bottom cover and it's dry as a bone. I removed the dish rack, lower washer arm and screen and started a cycle. The unit was not as noisey. I read the entire forum and see other models have similar problems and the answer is always replace the pump motor. I have not taken the unit out yet. What should I look for on the old motor. Should I just order a new motor before I pull the unit out?

Smile New Motor

I sent GE customer service an e-mail describing the problem. I learned that the water distribution system is still under warranty. Parts only.. After a little arm twisting GE is sending me a new motor/pump assembly.

Make sure the unit is filling up to near the heater, low fills can cause cavitation.
