Default No Power/Lights on Control Panel
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: DU941PWKQ1
Age: 5 - 10 years

OK, heres the problem. The last time we ran the dishwasher it made it to the rinse cycle and shut off so the water never drained. I tried hitting the cancel/drain button on the control panel but nothing happend; none of the buttons light up.
Here is what I've tried so far:
I checked the breaker and it was not tripped.
I found the Technical Service Data Sheet and tried a reset but nothing happened.
I checked the wiring housing and all was OK.
Question:
How do you test the Thermal Fuse with a multimeter?
I also need to check the door switches but haven't been able to find where they are and how to test.

If there are no light in the control panel it is likely the thermal fuse that has open.

You have to set the meter to the ohms scale, if you are using a analog meter the needle should go to the other side of the scale.

If you are using a digital meter set it rx1 with a tone. If the meter makes a buzzing sound the fuse is good and if it does not then it is opened.

The door switches are in the door in the latch assembly.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model DU941PWKQ1.

If the thermal fuse opened and you get the kit make sure that you install the wire that comes with the kit.

If the fuse is opened there may be something jamming the pump.

Did the dishwasher make any different noise before it stopped?

I didn't hear any diferent noise when it quit but then again we have four young and loud kids. Thanks for the reply, when I get home from work I will check the Thermal fuse and report back.
