It sounds like a stuck key in the control.

Remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher and find the technician sheet.

This should tell you how to determine what part you will need.

Here is a link to your dishwasher model pld346ordco.

thank you for your answer. i do have the tech sheet. i think it is the top keypad being stuck as well. but another tech told me it could be the main board , so i wanted to narrow it down. you do mean the top keypad doin't you? thanks a lot again.

I don't think it is the main board because it is going through the cycle fine.

thanks again for your help shelia.i really appreciate your input. i am actually fixing it for a lady at work. i've narrowed it down to the front keypad being stuck on, because i got the top pad lighting up the correct buttons when they are pushed. another problem arose though. the wash impeller is making a whinny noise and i read up on this dish washer and found that this is a common problem with this machine.the impeller begins to break free from the motor shaft causing the noise and poor washing. the only solution is to change the washpump and motor as they are one unit. new unit is $140 plus $100 front keypad.proabbly too expensive to repair. i'll keep ya poasted. thanks again.
