Default Neptune wont drain or rinse
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH4000AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a older Neptune MAH4000AWW that won't drain. It completes the cycle, open the door and it is full of soapy water. It dosn't seem to rinse or spin to drain the water. I take the drain hose out of the wall drain and lower it to the floor and the water drains out. Once the water is mostly drained and I set it to rinse the machines spins and drains the water. I took all the hoses off to check for debri and couldn't see any. I had a repair man out about 6 months ago when this happend. He pulled out a bra wire out of the pump. I couldn't see anything in the pump.

Hi,

When you had the pump removed did you feel way up inside the hose that connects the pump to the tub?

There is a large plastic check ball up inside there and small socks and things can get caught in it.

Appliance Wiki, Thanks for the response. There is a black plastic hose that hooks up to the bottom of the washer, it hooks into two little pumps. I've taken the hose and the two pumps completely out. The hose was free of anything. The pumps had a some dirt the came out. I took each pup appart and cleaned them. I then put it all together and it worked fine for about 7 or 8 loads. The last load had blankents and bedding in it. Once the cycle is over the washer is full of water and soap suds (no rinse or draining). When we take the drain hose and lower it to floor level and drain all the water out the rinse and drain part of the cycle works fine. I wonder if their is a weight distribution issue? What do you think.

Where the hose connects to the tub it is about a 3 inch opening. When I feel up in the tub there is a smaller 1 and a half inch hose that hangs down, dosn't connect, looks like free hanging to drain into the larger opening. I couldn't feel anything stuck in it.

thanks for your quick repy before.

Kevin
