Default Maytag water leak
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: Quiet Series 300
Age: 1 - 4 years

Last night after about 10-15 minutes, my dishwasher had a sudden and catastrophic water leak out of the bottom of the unit. All drain hoses were tight. Before I tear the thing apart I was wondering if there were any ideas. The seal appears intact. The water was definately from the dishwasher as the pasta sauce tinted the water red:P.

I was thinking perhaps a check valve, but was looking for someone's opinion on the most common causes for this model.

Thanks.

There really is no common cause
I do not think it would be a check valve
Since it was a "catastrophic water leak" it should be easy to find
Remove the kick plate and take a look
A small mirror and a flashlight will help

Also a Model Number would be helpful, the below should help you locate it

The most likely culprit is a leak around the soap dispenser or a clogged vent.
