Default Maytag MBD7100AWW
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDB7100AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Will not run cycles. When any button is pushed, machine will display led's for drain/off, display a number 2, and appears to be attempting to drain for 2 minutes.
Machine will not auto test, machine will not manual test, machine will not enter showroom mode.
There are two larger resistors on the satellite circuit board that appear to be wired series to each other. There is slight discoloration where they are soldered in. Everything else seems normal.
Can these resistors be the problem? Can they be replaced with new from radio shack? Is this even the problem?

I appreciate any help offered, Thanks

If it looks like the rinse aid has has been leaking, it may be covered under a recall.

Thanks to both of you for discussing this topic, seems my DW had the same problem (not working with the same discoloration from a burn), fortunately we didn't have a uncontrolled fire but some of the circuit board was melted.

How did you hear about the recall Denman?

If I hadn't been looking for the parts number of the circuit board and googled the model number which led me to your discussion, I never would have heard about the recall. I do have difficulty accepting the notion that the manufacturer or the retailer fulfilled their responsibilities under the "voluntary recall".

I, like Dan, have the part(s) currently being sent out. I wonder how many customers have replaced parts already because they were oblivious to the recall.

Thanks again for you assistance!
Ron

I had the recall performed on mine about 4 months after I'd already replaced the reservoir, cap and wax motor. I also cleaned up the wiring.

Since the recall, mine's been leaking Rinse Aid into the tub of the dishwasher. They've been back three times and don't know how to fix it.
